In this video we will show the reaction between magnesium and copper oxide. We will cause these to react, as a result causing a bright white flash. To set this experiment up, we suspended a tin bottle top using an iron wire mesh. We then placed a mixture of copper oxide and magnesium in powdered form and of equal proportion into the bowl. We then lit a busen burner and heated the contents. This triggered the flash.
